Bonnaroo silent disco – Day 1
For the ninth consecutive year, Silent Events will return to Manchester, TN to power the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival Silent Disco. The silent disco concept first appeared in America at Bonnaroo when Ryan Dowd, owner of Silent Events, was put in charge of running the silent disco. Due to his resounding success he has been brought back year after year to produce what has been called “the most exciting attraction of Bonnaroo”.
To get a feel for what the Bonnaroo silent disco has given festival goers in the past, check out our post chronicling last year’s festivities and see why DJ Jazzy Jeff proclaimed…
Ok…excuse my language but…The Silent Disco @ Bonnaroo was the Dopest Shit I Ever Did…WOW!!!!

This year’s silent disco is slated to start at 4:00 PM on Thursday, June 12. Quickie Mart will be up first, providing a “unique bass-heavy style” to kick things off. Quickie has created official remixes for acts such as Slightly Stoopid and Galactic, and he has performed for crowds at festivals such as New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Voodoo Music Festival, and Hangout Festival. This will mark his seventh appearance at Bonnaroo.
DJ Logic follows Quickie Mart, hitting the stage at 7:00 PM. Logic’s resume is extensive and most impressive. With a list of collaborations that includes Carly Simon, Warren Haynes, John Mayer, and The Roots just to name a few, he has not shied away from spreading himself across a variety of genres. Logic’s catalogue includes nine albums.
One of the coolest things to ever take place at the Bonnaroo silent disco was the DJ Logic/John Popper collaboration in 2010. Logic and the Blues Traveler frontman teamed up to form The John Popper Project Featuring DJ Logic in the early 2000s and released an album in 2006. Fortunately for everyone in Bonnarooland in 2010, the two came together to throw down and provided a great soundtrack on a typically warm Tennessee day.
(DJ Logic will also perform at the silent disco on Friday, June 13* from 12:00 AM to 2:30 AM — *technically Saturday, June 14)
The first night continues at 9:00 PM with DJ Equal. Equal’s hip-hop style and “repertoire with no boundaries” can be heard weekly throughout the hottest clubs in New York City as well as worldwide in locations such as Australia and Iceland. His talents have been sought by a host of large and glamorous events, including Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year Awards and Fashion Weeks events around the globe. Equal is also a drummer who is currently touring with Samuel.
Robert DeLong will bring the night to a close with a set starting at 11:30 PM. DeLong initially cut his teeth playing drums, piano, and guitar growing up, studying drumming in college, and then playing in various groups. In recent years, he has been heavily influenced by experiences at electronic festivals. He has given his previous material a reboot with electronic elements all while continuing to write new material. Based on this new focus, DeLong has been widely touted as an “artist to watch” with his solo work.
These four performers will undoubtedly get this year’s Bonnaroo silent disco off to a hot start. The full first day schedule is listed below.
