]]> Previously dubbed one of “seven reasons why you’ll wish you were there” by USA Today, the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival silent disco has continuously grown in both size and stature since its inception in 2005. As one of the festival’s most popular attractions, the event often sees a packed tent and one-in, one-out lines during peak times and amid sets by the hottest DJs.

Building on the success of previous years, the 2016 Bonnaroo silent disco reached soaring heights with another stellar lineup and one huge last-minute surprise.

But don’t let us gush about what went down. Let’s see what the media had to say.

Of course the biggest news from the silent disco tent was the surprise performance by Chance the Rapper on Sunday afternoon.

All of a sudden the Tennessee heat cranked up to “sweltering” as Lil Chano got underway.

Both MTV and Fuse have recaps of the previously unannounced set.

Rolling Stone included Chance the Rapper’s silent disco appearance in its “25 Best Things We Saw at Bonnaroo 2016.”

Jambase gave a nod in its “10 Best Aspects Of Bonnaroo 2016.”

Red Bull tabbed the set as Number 6 on its list of “32 Best Moments of Bonnaroo 2016.”

Live for Live Music called Lil Chano’s pop-up performance the weekend’s “Best Surprise Performance.”

Meanwhile, Billboard noted that the famous Bonnagrannies hit the silent disco before checking out Pearl Jam later that same night.

Finally, Nashville’s WSMV Channel 4 filed a live report from the farm highlighting the magic of the festival’s silent disco.

We think the silent disco goer in the video summed up the Bonnaroo silent disco vibe perfectly: “You can dance however you want to dance. No one can hear the music unless they have the headphones on, and they don’t care. So you just let go.”

We can’t wait to see everyone let it go again next year, when undoubtedly more memories will be made at yet another top notch Bonnaroo silent disco.
